Privacy policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

NotAWide is a mobile app for scoring cricket ball by ball, with teams, match history, career statistics and earned badges. It is run by Ranjith Poovaragavan, Tamil Nadu, India. This page explains what the app collects, why, who can see it, and how to delete it.

What we collect

What we do not do

Who can see what

Your profile (name, city, playing details, photo), statistics and badges can be seen by other signed-in NotAWide users. Matches can be seen by signed-in users. Whether other people can find you by your name or by your number is your choice: you set it in Edit profile.

A link you share from the app (for example a scorecard or a player card) opens that page in the NotAWide app for the person you send it to. The link carries only an internal ID for that page, never a name or a phone number.

Photos you add (profile, team crest, tournament photo) are stored so that other signed-in users can see them, and anyone who has the exact address of a photo can open it.

Reports, removed content and our records

When a report is upheld, a person at NotAWide may remove a photo, replace a name with a placeholder, delete a match or make an account read-only. Every such act is written to an audit of our actions. The audit keeps ids, codes, a fingerprint (a hash) of any removed text and a short note by the person who acted. It never keeps the text itself, and it never keeps who reported. It is kept for our records.

When a match is deleted, we keep a short record of it (the teams, the date, who deleted it and why) for our records.

A report made about you stays, without your account, for a limited period after it is closed.

A photo removed after a report is kept privately for a short fixed period, for appeals and legal requests, then deleted; longer only while a legal hold requires it. No other user can open it in that time. This applies even if the account is deleted in the meantime.

Where it is stored

Your data is stored with cloud service providers that process it only on our behalf: our database and photo storage run in India (Mumbai). Sign-in is handled by Google (Firebase Authentication), which processes sign-in data on Google's own systems and may do so outside India. Data travels encrypted (HTTPS).

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Menu → Account → Delete account. Your profile, name, city, playing details, photo, badges and career page are deleted. Scorecards of matches you played in stay, because a match belongs to everyone who played it, but your name on them is replaced with “Deleted player”. Some technical identifiers on records you created (for example which sign-in scored a match) can remain on those records without your name. Your blocks are removed with the account, and so is the record that you agreed to the Terms. A request or report you sent stays, without your name, for a limited period after it is closed. A photo of yours removed after a report stays for its short private period even if you delete the account. Copies kept in our provider's backups are removed when those backups expire. See Delete your account for the full details, including how to ask us to delete it if you no longer have the app.

Who it is for

NotAWide is for people aged 18 and over.
